Cincinnati, Ohio is considered to have been the first major American city in the early nineteenth century, booming in the heart of the country and rivaling the larger coastal cities in terms of size and wealth. Although its growth later slowed, it is still a major city in the Midwest and a hub for corporate headquarters. To name a few, Cincinnati houses Procter and Gamble, Macy’s Inc., The Kroger Company, Chiquita Brands International, Sunny Delight Beverages Co., Great American Insurance Company, GE Aviation and Fifth Third Bank. In total, there are ten Fortune 500 companies and 18 Fortune 1000 companies headquartered in Cincinnati. Also, Cincinnati is home to three Fortune Global 500 companies, making it the city with the most Global 500 companies in the Midwest.
