Unplug from your day with a lunchtime acoustic performance on Fountain Square. Acoustic Thursday typically features two groups or soloists performing folk, Celtic, blues, singer-songwriter, roots, or Americana music each week. The series showcases some of the best local musicians, including a number of Cincinnati Entertainment Award winners.
Last year there was dancing on the Square, but not to live salsa music. It gets hot in the middle of summer, but it's going to get a lot hotter when bands like Tropicoso, Salsa Caliente and ¡Zumba! lay down Latino rhythms. Don't know how to salsa? No problem. Instructors on the dance floor will lend a hand. And when it gets a little too hot, you can cool down with a cold soft drink or adult beverage.
Formerly "Rock the Square," Indie Summer serves up original music and adult beverages. A perfect way to start the weekend! Three indie rock/alternative pop bands perform every Friday night through the summer.

Cincinnati is home to a great independent music scene. It has a number of established singer-songwriters as well as closet musicians who just want an opportunity to hit the stage with guitar in hand and an audience to please. Anyone can jump on stage and perform two songs. If there's a little down time, the host performs and keeps things moving. This is a great late-night event for people who want to hear the newest music from local artists. Soft drinks and adult beverages will be available.
Blumanchu was formed in 2006 to bring the sound of Chicago-style blues to the Cincinnati blues scene. Come to the Square and listen to Blumanchu perform!
This weeks movie is the Karate Kid and Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon!
There is no better way to end a weekend than a Sunday evening of soul and R&B. Kick back, relax, and watch the sun set behind the buildings of the city while listening to some of Cincinnati's best musicians. Anyone who was lucky enough to catch the Gerald Albright concert in July 2007 knows exactly what we are talking about.
This week will feature Conrad Theide and myself talking about WHAT'S HOT DOWNTOWN! Call in (513.749.5500) during the show or visit the blog @ http://www.citytalk550.com.
Live music from the Rusty Grizwalds. Yeatmans Cove in Sawyer Park. http://www.party-in-the-park.com
